There is no doubt that this period has been incredibly challenging.

At Beleura, we recognise that this pandemic affects all aspects of our wellbeing, including our physical and emotional health.

We are in this with you. We are here to help.

“Can I still have an appointment?”

Telehealth is available and unrestricted for Physio, Exercise Physiology and Psychology. Bookings available online.

Can I have a face-to-face appointment?

Physiotherapy Exercise Physiology and Psychology:

Yes, with some restrictions. Once you have made a booking or spoken to reception your clinician may be in touch to discuss your case further if we need to clarify your situation as it applies to these restrictions.

To Book Call: 5979 3737

Myotherapy & Remedial Massage:

Unfortunately no, not yet.

Group Classes: Still only via Zoom

While there are some restrictions still in place, they apply differently to every individual.

Our receptionists usually CANNOT advise you whether your specific case meets each restriction. Every case will be different. You may decide yourself based on the rules outlined below. If you are not sure, you can request a call from a clinician.

You do not need a GP referral.

The 5km travel rule does not apply to appointments. Your appointment SMS reminder serves as legal proof of reason to travel.

Read about the new rules below.

Face-to-Face Appointments

Government rules for appointments during this step of lockdown are briefly summarised below:

  • Telehealth whenever possible if this doesn’t risk a patient’s condition declining or making their recovery more problematic after Oct 25th.
  • BUT face to face appointments are allowed if they are deemed essential to prevent you declining, or if delaying until after Oct 26th would increase your pain or recovery time frame.

So, when is a face-to-face appointment “essential”? This can be tricky to answer, and the answer will be different from one case to the next. This is why our clinicians will make a decision on every single case individually in consultation with you.

1. Consider Telehealth:

Many conditions are able to be assessed and treated very effectively via telehealth, with expert advice on exercises, rehabilitation and self-treatment. They can be claimed on your private health fund, Medicare Care Plans, DVA, TAC, Work cover and NDIS. We offer a free face-to-face follow-up appointment if we determine during the assessment that telehealth isn’t right for you, or if you’re unhappy with the appointment.

If you are considering telehealth but aren’t sure, we have decided to make this decision easier for you.

Throughout stage 4, our senior physios will be available to talk to you and help decide which type of appointment is needed.

If we determine that it’s unlikely you can adequately or safely be assessed via telehealth we will arrange a face-to-face appointment.

Please be aware that this service is for the purposes of deciding on an appointment type, it is not a full assessment. To have one of our team call you regarding your concern, email with your name and contact number and we will get in contact with you. Or call reception on 5979 3737 to arrange a call-back.

Please be aware that there may be some delay in our response, but we will endeavour to return all of these calls within the day.

If you feel that a face-to-face appointment is required to prevent your condition significantly declining or your pain worsening over the lockdown period, then these appointments are available. After your assessment, your clinician will discuss with you whether your condition meets the criteria for further face-to-face appointments or telehealth.

You do not need a GP referral.

The 5km travel rule does not apply to these appointments. Your appointment SMS reminder serves as legal proof of reason to travel.

We have well-established protocols for personal protection and infection control and are closely following the guidance provided by the Australian Government and the DHHS.

Of course, in line with current advice it is also compulsory for everybody within our clinics to wear masks and this remains a condition of entry to all Beleura Health Solutions sites.

Remember you can also stay in touch with us at our closed Facebook group for our Hastings community. On this page we have a number of free exercise videos including recorded classes taken by our physios.

Remember, this is only for now.

If you need us we are here to help.
